When Sky News approached us for comment on the prohibition (forced evacuation) of the Skyline Chambers building in Manchester it was a good opportunity to share our ongoing research into the number of residential blocks that have been decanted by authorities due to Fire or Structural safety concerns, since the Grenfell Tower tragedy in June 2017.
Building Safety Register CEO Matt Hodges-Long comments about the cladding crisis: “Prohibitions take place when the end of the line is reached and the authorities can no longer tolerate the risk to life that a building poses. Building Safety Register collates prohibition data from news sources and tip-offs from industry professionals and residents. Where this information can be validated and a credible source cited it is added to the published prohibition tracker.
